April 18.... 100 years of San Francisco rising..!

It will be the 100 year anniversary of the most devastating earth quake that ever happened in the United States. The Great San Francisco Earth Quake of 1906... and lots and lots of events will be happening around the entire San Francisco Bay area to celebrate the city rising from this event as well as the great fire that followed it.

The U. S. Post Office and Meaning of "Service"...

Today while I was waiting over 45 minutes in a line of about 30 people at the Post Office to mail out many orders of titty pretties which we had received in the last two days... with only one postal employee at the counter and she was certainly in no rush... I was thinking that at one time I really thought I understood the meaning of the word "Service". It is the act of doing things for other people... right... or am I really mistaken..? Well... I began feeling pretty confused... and thought of a few terms which reference the word "Service"....

Postal Service... Internal Revenue Service... Telephone Service... Civil Service... City & County Service... Public Service... Customer Service... and I even get gas for my car at Service Stations...

...then I remembered a cattle rancher once telling me he had hired a bull to "service" a few of his cows... and suddenly it all started coming into perspective. Now I think I understand what all those "Service" agencies and stations are really all about..!
